Product Description
Specifications:-

The evaporated milk should be according to the Libyan standard specifications for evaporated milk which bear the following specifications.

1- Free from any pork products and its derivatives.
2- The constituents of evaporated milk should be according to standard specification.
3- Should be natural in taste and colour.
4- Should be homogenized and free from lumbing and fat separating.
5- Should be free from impurities and foreign matters.
6- The titrable acidity should not be more than 0.4% [ <0.4% ]
7- The fat percentage should not be less than 7.5 % [ > 7.5 % ]
8- The total solid should not be less than 25 % [ > 25% ]
9- The proteins contents should not be less than 6.5% [ >6.5% ]
10- The ash contents should not exceed 1.5% [<1.5%]
11- The milk fat should have the following specific constant criteria:
I) Reihert meisel number should not be less than 24.50 and not exceed 32.80 [>24.50 and <32.80]
II) Polenske numbers should not less than 1.5 and not exceed 3.5 [>1.5 and <3.5]
III) Kirichner numbers should not be less than 21.0 and not exceed 27.0 [>21.0 and < 27.0]

12- Should be free from gelatine.
13- Should be free from preservatives.
14- The evaporated milk should be manufactured from fresh milk.


SANITARY CONDITIONS:-
1- the product should be manufactured according to the conditions and sanitary rules for general food health in addition to the instruction of public health.
2- Should be free from pathogenic organism.
3- The afla toxin (ml) should not exceed 0.01 mg/kg [<0.01mg/kg]
4- Should be free from coliform bacteria.
5- The total count of bacteria spores should not be more than 10/gram [<10/gram]
6- The trace metal should not exceed the latest allowable amount which assigned by fao / who / foa & ec. Bear in mind the lowest amount permited by any one of them, it should be considered first.
7- Should be free from antibiotic.
8- Should be free from detergent antiseptic and cleaning materials residues.
9- The pesticide residue should not exceed the amount allowed be fao / fda & e. bear in mind also that the lowest amount which permited by any one of them. It should be considered first.
10- The radio active elements should not exceed 30 bq for caesium 134 and caesium 137 and should be free from americium 241, plutonium 238, plutonium 239 and strontium 90.

ADDITIVES:
• Any additives allowed to added to evaporated milk should be confirmed and endorsed by fao and who.
• The vitamins allowed to be added are a,b,c & d in which the amount permited should be according to the allowable amount range for evaporated milk using a highly industrial technology applied in this field.
• The evaporated milk should be filled in new clean hermatic sealed cans made from varnished tin plate sheets and should comply to the Libyan standard specifications no.38/1995 for standard specifications applied of the tin plate sheets and empty cans used for filling of foods and their amendments.

PACKAGING:
• The carton should be strong and sea worthy box which comply with the world standard specification for filling and packaging of evaporated milk.
• The carton should be palletized on strong – wrapped pallets and then covered with thicker plastic against weather and to prevent any movement during any transportation.
• 2 % empty cartons should be provided with each shipment free of charges and separate b/1 will be issued for the empty cartons.

ILLUSTRATED INFORMATION ON THE LABEL AND TIN CAN:

1- Without any discrepancy of the Libyan standard specifications concerning the illustrated information on the covers and food packs and their amendments.
2- The following information should be written in clear writing:
a- Name and kind of product
b- Fat percentage
c- Total solid percentage
d- Protein percentage
e- List of food ingredients
f- Volume or net weight according to the international units
g- Country if origin
h- Bach number
i- Production and expiry date which should be mentioned in month and year avoiding the coded terms.
j- Name and address of the manufacturere
k- The vitamins will be mentioned on the label
l- Preparation method
